Dragon Warrior

I did that scene tutorial with nodes and added some characters to it, scenes like this are pretty easy to design so we can det some good renders, i may do the barrel tutorial and add some barrels / crates to the scene. then think about position and stuff aswell.

This character could rid the dragons, we could invent a sport that they play in the animation and we could texture different warriors and scale them to different sizes.

Terrains

Guitar

Just thought I'd have a go at making a guitar. Here's progress so far:

Still working on the guitar. I guess I'm not as fast at modelling but it is quite detailed I guess.

Added the pegs at the bottom and the bits at the top. Have still got to do the machine heads, the frets and the strings. Shouldn't take too long though.

Machine heads and frets done along with some other shape editing too. Just the strings to go now!

And here is the final product. Pretty pleased with
it I guess.
Looks just like my guitar!

My Dragon

Been working through the dragon tutorial today. Took me ages as I was trying to get used to the new blender as well. Here is what I have so far:

Update #1
Started carrying ont the tutorial where the body starts. Wasted about 2 hours following it and then decided I didn't like where it was going so started making my own body shape.

Still looks a bit rubbish, I think the proportions might be wrong for what I'm going for but it might just be the lack of arms and legs at this stage.

I am having trouble getting my head around the render settings on the new blender as you can probably tell by this render lol.

Update #2
I keep changing my mind over what type of body I'm going for but this is my latest idea for the body. I think it's much better than the previous one and should look good when I do the arms, legs, claws and wings.

Update #3
Still working on this guy. Put some arms in and adjusted various other stuff like the horns.

Not too sure what I think about it really lol.

Sorry if I post too many of these updates but it helps me compare/contrast with previous versions and to see what needs improving still.

Update #4
Latest version. Still working on it. Added some feet, changed the body up a bit. Hands are only temporary and I will edit definitely.

Update #5
Modelled the wings along with some other changes and touches to him now and I think it is looking ok. I am not totally satisfied with this style of wings so I might go back and change.
I plan on doing one more modelling session for this guy where I just touch up everything until I am happy with it. But before that I'll probably make some other faster stuff as this guy is taking a while.
Update #6
Ok couldn't resist doing a tiny bit more on him tonight. Just changed the legs, moved the wings a bit and added some spikes on the wings.
Had to post it here ^^.

New Website Image

Here's the latest image for the website.

I'm thinking, no borders, and with a white background on the site so you can't see where the image starts or ends.

Any ideas or things you guys think should be changed just let me know. It's really easy to alter it now.

Dragon Cave

Started trying to make a cave as another set for the dragons. Only the beginning and doesn't really look that great atm but here's what I did so far.

Update #1
Modelled a basic treasure chest. I used shape keys to allow the chest to open. This way each chest can easily be set at a different level of openess as shown in the screenshot.

Having some large problems with the normals for this object for some reason as can sort of be seen by some of the black particularly on the silver bits of the chests. Not too sure how to deal with this.

Could probably make the chest more detailed and fancy but as it is it can be duplicated easily without affecting render times much etc..

Castle in the making for the dragon set

Here's a tutorial I followed but changed the textures using the compositor in blender I'm not too sure yet though on how to add other objects with different lighting than to the rest of the scene.

Dragon Set from Tom Derbyshire on Vimeo.

This could be used for when the dragons fly across In a scene.

Armory

Put my character on hold as he is taking a while and decided to make some weapons in the meantime.
#1 Wizard Staff
A wizard staff for a game or anything really.
Could probably improve it further but it's probably best to move on to other stuff.
Upcoming weapons hopefully will include a sword, mace and axe. Feel free to recommend any others or make any suggestions.

#2 Mace
Created a mace.
Not really that happy with the texturing for this one but didn't want to spend anymore time on it. It seems difficult to use material settings to make metals and shiny stuff when there is nothing to reflect so I went for a more stone like approach.
I plan on making a sword, axe and a dagger and then working on the dragon tutorial.

Update: As can be seen in the updated pics I created a cool little environment to put my weapons in. This now allows the material settings such as mirror and transparency to show and just looks much better overall.

#3 Daggers
As requested I created and textured some daggers for my armory. I think they are looking pretty decent.

Render times are starting to get too high because of the reflections and stuff on the materials but I guess this is ok for presentation screenshots.
Probably not got the weapon sizes correct in proportion to one another but that doesn't really matter as everything can obviously be scaled to how the user wants it.
#4 Axe
" and my axe!"
Modelled and textured the axe for my armory. I think it's looking pretty decent.
Let me know your thoughts!
I'm also thinking of modelling a cave with lots of treasure/jewellery as an environment for the dragons. Tell me what you think.

Female Head

I am a bit busy this week as my cousin is over from France and I've got to keep him entertained and stuff but here is the female head I made for 3D character animation. Thought I might as well put it here as I spent so much time on it.

Skyscraper Underconstruction

Hi guys im adding a new asset to the buildings category and also im starting to learn how to texture and create good lighting setups for rendering heres a screenshot to show what Ive done so far... (I need to recalculate normals ...)

Current work in progress

I'm working on a scene to add that character I made in character animation, I want it to be our home page image so it'll like slightlye like the pixar image of toy story. with good lighting and texturing it should show off what we can do with our own work. this is it so far. Still a lot to be added and the lighting will have to be set up, we can add other characters to the scenes once we have more.
